DAV Model School, KSTP, Asansol (West Bengal),CBSE Affiliated senior secondary co- educational English medium school established under the aegis of DAV College Managing Committee, New Delhi had its inception on 4th of August 2017.
The mission of DAV Model School KSTP is to focus on learning for every student every day. The vision of our institution emphasizes the fact that learning is reflected in both achievement and growth. The school treasures 72 faculty members and more than 2150 brimming students.Our students have been consistently achieving excellence in academic field from Pre-Primary to middle school. Students have participated in different Olympiads in English, Maths, Science and ICT (such as Silver Zone Olympiad, Green Olympiad, Vidyarthi Vigynyan Manthan) and Wiz National Spell Bee, making a mark in each by securing Gold, Silver, Bronze medals. Various Co-curricular activities such as Debate, Quiz, Recitation, Mock Parliament, Drama, Participation in National Children's Science Congress and Paschimbanga Vigyan Mancha and Extra-curricular activities such as mask making, Poster making, quilling, origami, earthen lamp decoration, Rangoli, singing and dance etc. were organised to facilitate teaching learning and bring out the best in each one of our students. Students have participated in the ISRO CYBERSPACE COMPETITION conducted by ISRO and have secured position there too.
Efforts have been made to impart environment education through various activities like - Vanmahotsava celebration, "Rally for Rivers", Skit performance, Poster- making and debate. Sports achievements of the school include participation of the students at District and Zonal level Sports Meet conducted by DAV Public/Model Schools, West Bengal Zone, and National level Sports Meet conducted in National level by DAV Management Committee which is approved by School Games Federation of India(SGFI) where students achieved success in various events such as Chess, Karate, Yoga and Taekwondo. Students have also excelled in various sports events conducted by the District Sports Department, Paschim Bardhamaan, West Bengal. Apart from this students have participated in the Cross-Country Marathon conducted by the school in collaboration with Asansol Durgapur Police Commissionerate. To keep in pace with the changing technological advancements in the field of education, smartboards were installed to make the teaching-learning process more innovative. Smart Board technology has also been integrated with online teaching.
There is a parent representative in the School Local Management Committee to voice their opinion and partake in various decisions of the school. Parents are kept well informed about the progress of their wards at regular intervals through PTA. The holistic approach of our school such as - classroom based assessments, participation in extra and Co-curricular activities, attendance, discipline, social-emotional development; yoga, wellness etc. have yielded positive overall results which is clearly visible in the personality of our students.
